Application Procedure for the Summer 2009 Festival

Applications are now being accepted for outstanding high-school, collegiate and pre-professional musicians for the 2009 season of Blue Mountain Festival.

A tape reflecting the current level of student achievement, which may accompany the application or be sent under separate cover, is required from all applicants (new and returning). The tape is necessary for balancing the chamber ensembles. 

Audition Requirements

Two contrasting works that represent the applicant’s highest level of technical and musical ability.

at location TBD - within 2 hour drive of Philadelphia. 
After reading this brochure, you can print the form and mail in a registration for the 2009 session.

2.                  Enclose the $50 application fee made payable to Blue Mountain Festival.

3.                  Enclose a compact disc, audio or video tape (no minidisk or HI-8 tape please) containing your audition (see requirements above). Clearly label the tape with your name, age, instrument, composer, and title of the pieces.

5.                  All applications must be received by April 1. Late applications will be reviewed at the executive director.

Tuition, Facilities fee   $975
Room and Board $850
Application fee $50
Total     $1875

Acceptance

All applicants will be notified by letter regarding their acceptance into the program. If accepted, a deposit of 50% is due immediately to reserve a space. The remaining balance is due by June 1, 2009, with a $75 discount given if payment is made in full by March 31, 2009.

Cancellations

Since the chamber groups and the music are assigned based on individual ability and experience, any cancellation creates problems for the other students and for the program in general. Participation may be cancelled by May 31, 2009 for a full refund minus the application fee. Cancellations after June 1, 2009 may receive a refund of 50% of the total fees at the discretion of the Executive Director.
