Application Procedure for
the Summer 2008 Festival
Applications are now being accepted for
outstanding high-school, collegiate and pre-professional musicians for
the 2008 season of Blue Mountain Festival.
A tape reflecting the current level of student
achievement, which may accompany the application or be sent under
separate cover, is required from all applicants (new and returning).
The tape is necessary for balancing the chamber ensembles.
Auditions requirements:
Violin, Viola and Cello
- A
movement of a Bach Concerto or unaccompanied Bach
- An
etude representing the most advanced technical development of the
applicant
Flute
- A movement of a Bach Sonata
- An etude representing the most advanced technical
development of the applicant
Piano
- Two pieces from distinctly
different musical styles including one from the Baroque/Classical
period . The selections should be of contrasting character to show the
applicant's keyboard facility and musicianship.

Enclose the $50 application fee made payable to Blue Mountain
Festival.
3.
Enclose a compact disc, audio or video tape (no minidisk or
HI8 tape please) containing your audition (See requirements above)
Clearly label the tape with your name, age, instrument,
composer, and title of the pieces.

All applications must be received by April 15. Late applications will be reviewed at the discretion of the Directors.

Acceptance
All applicants will be notified by letter regarding their
acceptance into the program. If
accepted, a deposit of 50% is due immediately to reserve a space.
The remaining balance is due by June 8, 2008 .
Cancellations
Since the chamber groups and the music are
assigned based on the individual ability and experience, any
cancellation creates problems for the other students and for the
program in general. Participation
may be cancelled by May 31 for a full refund minus the application
fee. Cancellations after
June 1 may receive a refund of 50% of the total fees, at the
discretion of the Executive Director.
